I have heard numerous people state that vanillo is very much against Lucas racers going east.
Can you blame him? While I think it's a little bit of an insult to Crandon to schedule over it, he decided to draw a line in the sand. This isn't going to necessarily help LOORRS immediately but it will certainly hurt TORC, at least as far as truck count goes.
I'm making the assumption that the LeDucs run only LOORRS. I'm not sure what Rob Mac, RJ Anderson, Cenni, Barlow, Currie, etc will do.
I'm curious what the attendance will be in Reno for Labor Day. Many families have plans for holiday weekends and with the race outside the base of SoCal, it's a full weekend commitment to go to the races. I think Reno may have the lowest turnout of any LOORRS race other than Utah. In norther Wisconsin, Crandon IS the plan for families for the full holiday weekend.
The whole thing sucks for fans. Imagine a Pro-2 field with Greaves, Hord, Renezeder, Menzies, Kincaid, Hart, MacCachren, Naughton, McGrath, Deegan, Adler, Ampudia, Woods & Pierce all battling it out!
I understand LOORS drawing a line, but its very much like your three year old trying to get their way. All they are doing is creating a rift in the fan base and asking sponsors to stretch limited resources because "they" have a hard-on over another series. Do they really believe that Reno is going to out attend Crandon (no matter the size of the field)???
Every sport needs tradition, Crandon IS that tradition. How about this, in protest, I'll refuse to watch any LOORS Reno coverage, but you'll be sure I'll watch the Crandon TV coverage.
AZ_AMSOIL, it's nice to see you stick tight with AMSOIL, and watch the TORC race! I'm sure that will put a hurtin' on Lucas...![]()
Don't make the assumtion that I'm an exclusive TORC "guy" based on my screen name. I have and will continue to support the LOORS series. My point being that LOORS didn't need to put teams/sponsors in the situation they did, however, they made that decision and I think it sucks. It is rare that teams, who can afford to travel, get to race in the other series. When they do it is great for us fans!
To sumerize this thread...
Lucas doesnt want to give away there racers.
Torc doesnt want to give away there racers.
Lucas sceds on top of torcs biggest race.
Torc sceds awards banquet on top of lucas biggest race.
The industry is angry because they have to choose a venue or expand.
The westcoast fans that attend crandon are disapointed.
Everyone in crandon is ice fishing right now and wont know this is going on till march.
Please if you want to post here read the thread from the start to be sure your post has some accuracy.
