One more time
Here we go again. Last year I found my old Chenowth MAGNUM #1 in a box. Put it together and started the race and thats about as far as I made it. Well this year I found a 1985 DR2 picked it up over the christmas brake and its time to start work. Don't know a lot of her history so I'll try and get some #s off the tube and get back to everone. Here is what I do know about her. Was in th LV area white in color and had a LS1 in her, beam car with coilover all away around.. if you know anything it would be nice to here from you

Re: One more time
Dan, I think I know what Chenowth your talking about. Not sure of the history either but I'm pretty sure Kory Scheeler owned it about 5-7 years ago and used it as a prerunner. Pretty nice car with a nice set of King shocks on it. I'll see if Kory knows anything else. Good for you, hope to see you down there this year, I will most likely be a spectator or pitting for friends.....maybe 2013 for me.

Re: One more time
Dan, Rory has it right... Kory Scheeler had it with a Porsche and the Fields Automatic for sometime. Prior to that, Arizona's Dakar racing Mark Miller had it and raced it in a handful of races. Prior to that I am going to have to guess it was a Church / Baldwin car.
Congratulations on the acquisition. What is going on with last year's project? Was it a single seat DR1?
Let us know if we can be of any assistance to you guys. I know my good buddy Brian Goodrich used to help you back in the day too!
Thanks!
Mike

Re: One more time
The DR1 went back to Washington and havn't heard a word from them. So this year going to make a go at it myself. More fun that way. Thinking of doing a minndy and a stock porsche 3.2..... Would you know how to get a hold of any one.... would like to know what shocks and rear hubs they were set up with. Thanks much!!!!

Re: One more time
Dan, not 100% sure but they were either running Currnut or Summers bros hubs. Can't get a good look at your rear trailer arms but it looks like summers bros. I talked with Jose @ summers at the Off Road Expo and he is reproducing those hubs, I think you should give him a call. Also, Butch Dean HAD some Porsche motors, not sure if he still does but he'd be the first guy I'd call and I'm sure he might have other stuff lying around that could help. If you need his number just email me at [email protected]
Good luck on the project, I'll be watching the build so keep us updated!
