a thread to discuss any aspect of the rally for bikes, cars and trucks. i was really surprised that the leader in trucks, de rooy is actually driving a truck with a nose on it rather than the flat front end. pretty strange looking.,,,not so much strange, but different for sure.

Trust me. Paul and I have had some thoughts about how cool this truck could be with a few modifications!!!! Some suspension and loosing the 600 gallons of water this thing could be a good time! Good looking to for an American truck!

Well I would like to say that as an international member of the forum I am just glad to see that this year there apparently is tremendous focus on the Dakar from the US. Its also amazing that the technology and expertise from Baja and other US races has a clear chance at highlighting its competitiveness with Robby Gordon and Nasser Al Atiyah driving their Hummers! I hope that these guys are able to keep going till the end which will invariably ensure some impressive results. Plus its just amazing following the race on this forum with comments and contrinutions from the members!
Thank You Race Dezert!
shows bill conger withdrew from bikes as well as jonah and now quinn cody. cody crashed and early reports said he broke his coolarbone and had his chickens scattered. he'll be ok but this ends his dakar for this year..bummer.

Glad you are having fun with this board. Lots of good peeps here... I've made tons of friends here in the last ten years. We/this board have been hardcore on this race since RG's first run in the VW in 2005. This board is the Dakar Mecca for the US. Glad to see so much international contributors this year. I'm sure Nasser/RG combo make that happen. Especally someone from Pakistan. Sports have a great way of bringing people together.
