RG spent over 4 mil for the Dakar race that was cancelled in 2008, he made sure every media outlet known to mankind knew about that, as he was worried about bieng on the hook for it since the rally was cancelled, which is in part why they had the CER. Supposedly, Nasser went to Mini first and they wanted 1.5 mil euros. Mucho dinero for a top tier ride that is watched/followed by 1 BILLION People. Sponsors see the 1 billion number and are willing to pay alot more than that.....Just think what Joe Parsons and Monster is paying to sponsor the Mini Group, much more than 1 mil euros.
ah best driver to drive hummer 2 in 7 yrs is nasser the chile people screwed RG big time

Also great to see some American Faces around too, Robby and Bob Gordon, Boyd James, Jim Cook, Dave Ashley, and many more. The BMW Mini program is unbelievable, we're ALL learning things. Robby and the SPEED crew constantly come over to see how Darren and the rest of the team is doing and if we need anything everyday. It's good to be an American, but there is a lot of international sponsors and markets that are missed in the States and by us American racers. Only halfway there, a more elaborate report to come. I'll take an In-N-Out Double Double please.
Thanks Dan, please keep the posts coming. Life in the bivoucac is what we're lacking most info from.
