Re: RGM support Hummer
I drove and rode in the H1 for the 2010 Dakar and it is not the most comfortable vehicle to be in for 5000+miles... at all, it was actually miserable haha. i dont think the H1 is very neccesary anymore since the rally moved to South America since the support vehicles pretty much stay on the paved roads.

yep. i have a 4 man h1 and it's amazing how little room for anything there is. typical military design where it seems like it's a requirement to be uncomfortable. most room is taken up inside by the engine and tranny covering which really hampers comfort for passengers. the ride isn't too bad but there's just no room in them to get comfortable. of course, folks don't join the military to get comfortable now do they? can't haul chit in them either without a big roof rack and then it's hard to get at anything on top because it's too wide to reach anything. in spite of all that, for shorter runs in the desert where they were designed to be driven, they're still the most fun you can have with your clothes on when they're running right and people will get out of your way.....easy to find in parking lots too..ja ja...if rg got 75k for that thing, he scored big time.
"so that's your wife? last time i saw a mouth like that, it had a hook in it".........rodney dangerfield RIP....

A MAN truck isn't that comfortable either! At least when it has containment seats and five point harnesses.
