    An arm that is straight or an arm with a bend built in should not cycle any different. Typically the arm will be bent to attach onto the bearing (uniball, ball joint, heim, bushing, ect) in a straight plan or some will put a bend near the center to lower the shock mounts...

    A bent lower arm allows for much better shock geometry when engines and stuff get in the way of upper shock mounts, but it does sacrifice a little ground clearance. Still way better than snow plow beams lol.

    I built a kit for my 05 4x4 18" travel I bent the lower arms for two reasons . first to clear the cv's second to keep my camber more true at full droop. these trucks need it to correct the difference of a-arm lengths.
