Rescue + Pit teams save a racers life!
I would like to thank all the pit teams (especially Chris from RPM) for all the help saving a fellow racer's life. If it were not for all the other support coming over to assist, it would have been a different result. From providing extra 02 bottles to helping land the helicopter, you all were a God send. I want to thank all of you for your help!
RES4CUE
That was funny, but I don't like you, so I'm not going to laugh.

Was this at pit 2? Saw the helicopter land, but never heard what happened.
Want an unfair advantage?

Re: Rescue + Pit teams save a racers life!
Dakota Snow - Jeep Speed 1719 inhaled some nasty fumes during the fire that resulted from her Jeepspeed being punted from the course. The Vehicle was a total loss and Dakota was transported by Care Flight to Childrens Hospital in Phx.
A few minutes ago I spoke with her father and she should be released in the next day or 2 from there. The team is already working on plans for a new vehicle for the Mint 400.
In a nutshell, racers being the most amazing group of people stopped what they were doing, who they were pitting for and everyone in the immediate area assisted to make sure this young 15 year old would have a chance to race again. Team medics worked hand in hand with our rescue crew to stabalize and maintain her airway while waiting the 20 minutes for the helicopter to arrive. Other people in the pit secured a safe landing zone and after the incident, numerour others took care of the vehicle, loading it ready for transport on the teams trailer and others loaded their toy hauler and even cleaned it ready for them to just come and pick it up.
Off roaders continue to amaze me each and every day -
Great work all.

Glad everyone will be ok. We stopped and offered our fire extinguishers but it was already a total lose at that point.

Very glad to hear she's doing well and will race again soon, but what's with her getting punted off the course??

X2...this 'punting thing' needs to be reined in.

Jeepspeed punted off the course? I thought you are not allowed to hit the Jeepspeed vehicles? And to have someones life at risk because of it?
It is a shame that at a time when our sport is under the microscope, some inconsiderate boob of a racer would violate the rules of offroad racing, totally ruin someones vehicle and put another racer in harms way. How many other racers did this person punt from the course?
Kudos to those who stopped and helped save a life on Sat. There is always room for considerate, helpful racers/spectators during a race. I know Dakota Snow appreciates them.
As for the Jeepspeed punter: You know who you are and it will get out eventually!
Not cool!

Im so glad she is ok!! Offroaders are the most amazing and helpful group of people. Proud to be an offroader. I have never understood exactly why its so "cool" to bump and pass. Im hoping this was not intentional. I digress. Im glad she is ok to race another day.
