I thought for sure fuel would be damn near free but its not. Gas was around $3.75 per gallon +/- everywhere you went. Like us, demand is high on all ends so just cause they produce a bunch of it doesn't mean that they aren't selling it off. They are pumping more oil now then ever before, They had full on massive scale labor camps for the oil fields out in the middle of the dunes. Its crazy!
Trip of a life time for sure.

WHile I didn't talk to anyone about Dakar I did talk to the guys about the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge which is a dakar style rally they host. It appears many of their competitors are also Dakar competitors. I would love to go back for that. Its held in March which means its really hot by then.
check out the interview video that RDC did! http://www.race-dezert.com/home/joey...uae-29294.html
Thanks brother! It was cool RDC let me tell the story. The guys in Dubai / Abu Dhabi were stoked on it as well.
Great reading and videos.

i just want to say that i'm stoked that you guys had such a great opportunity and that you had the chance to share common ground with folks from such a different culture and background. fun is fun, no matter where you're from and off road fun is the most fun of all. thanks for sharing .
