We want to hear from you President’s Day weekend!

Big survey happening on site this weekend:
California State Parks will be holding a mobile workshop on February 18th and February 19th as part of the Ocotillo Wells SVRA General Plan Update. The purpose of these workshops is to share work that has already been completed for the General Plan Update process and to collect your input on draft goals to be included in the Ocotillo Wells SVRA General Plan.

The mobile workshops will be held in 4 locations over 2 days. The approximate times and locations for the mobile workshop are:

Saturday Morning: Ocotillo Wells SVRA Discovery Center
February 18th, 2012, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Saturday Afternoon: Truckhaven 4×4 Training Area
February 18th, 2012, 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Sunday Morning: North Marina Drive
February 19th, 2012, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Sunday Afternoon: Holmes Camp
February 19th, 2012, 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

It was a great weekend at Ocotillo Wells SVRA and the weather was beautiful during the mobile workshops for the General Plan Update. We appreciate everyone who took a break from riding and drove great distances to talk with us during the mobile workshops.

If you could not make it to the mobile workshops, an online comment activity has been created to allow you to review the preliminary goals, provide a comment, suggest your own goals, and see what others have shared about the preliminary goals. The preliminary goals establish priorities for management decisions and provide overall direction for the future of Ocotillo Wells SVRA. These goals were presented at the mobile workshops held in Ocotillo Wells SVRA on February 18 and February 19, where participants provided input by placing post-it notes on presentation boards. Input collected during the mobile workshops has been included in the online comment activity. The online comment activity will be available until March 21, 2012.
