I can run 30+ laps around a Lucas Oil Short Course then drive 400 miles and the steering wheel is straight and it steers perfectly down the road. I towed my Jeep to The KOH Race then rallied my Raptor every chance I got while I was there, then towed the Jeep home. The only complaint is gas mileage, but I didn't buy it for fuel economy. The Raptor is more truck than I expected when I purchased it.
What shocks do you have?

Once again, you are spot on with your observations. I should think before I post from now on. Of course driving 80 down the freeway is exactly like driving 80 thru the desert. What was I thinking? Just today I was driving down the freeway and hit a bunch of gnarly G-outs, swerved around some large rocks, skated on pebbles, got rutted out in a turn and pounded thru a washout. It was really scary because there was no shoulder available for safety and of course no guardrails near any danger spots. For a second there I thought I was actually in Baja, not cruising down the 5.

I think a little common sense is needed here. A vehicle used to prerun the course is a prerunner.
The determining factor for the speed of the prerun is the vehicles preparation, the drivers skill, and the drivers level of risk taking.
Over the years I have prerun in Baja bugs, buggies, Broncos, pickups, etc.
Some had cages, some did not. Some had long travel suspensions, and some were stock. They ALL preran the course, just at vastly different speeds.
The Raptor IS a prerunner. It can not and should not try to keep up with a fully caged prerunner. It can prerun at a faster pace than a stock ranger (which I did at the 87 high desert 250), and many other vehicles out there.
Use common sense, and enjoy the Raptor for what it is.

KOOK!
Re: Man! I love my Raptor!!!!!
I drove south on the dirt towards Coco's at about 40-45 mph. We ate lunch at Gonzaga and then I drove north at a much higher rate of speed. There was about 6 of us all spaced out to avoid dust and communicating on the radio about traffic. I felt safe but I'm a nimrod so ya know I'm sure it was plain stupid.
I did however have a blast.
Sometimes RDC is a real drag. I promise to never tell you guys about having a great time again. Sheeze. I've prerun thousands of miles and the worst I ever did was ruin a centerline wheel. I'm pretty stupid but PAB has tried to teach me how to use my head. Best of luck to you clowns. I'm gonna be on the Raptor forum for a while. I'm over it.
Ps. Jerry I'll be calling about those A arms!

Anyone who hates on the Raptor either can't afford one or hates Ford because for what the truck is designed for there is nothing better. I love mine too!
Geez Travis, do you ever wash that thing?
