Race not over yet, but... I am gonna go out on a limb and call RHYS MILLEN the WINNER of 2012 PIKES PEAK HILL CLIMB.... setting new course record, 9:46.181, beating Nobihuro Tajima's 2011 record-settting time of 9:51 by almost six seconds. Today, Rhys beat Swiss road race pro and 24hrs Lemans winner Roman Dumas by .02 seconds.

New record! That's cool! But since the course has been paved I think it is obviously faster... I think there are going to be two records now, Old Pikes Peak Dirt/Pavement record set by Tajima and New Pikes Peak Pavement record set by Rhys

Before the race the officals had mentioned that the record books would show times by class with before and after paving records. One thing the pavement has done was to narrow many of the corners. Makes it harder to get the fastest line and even the drift drivers had to adjust speeds from last year to this year.
