We are a little more then 30 days away from the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series Season Kick off!! Lot's of drivers moving up in class, New teams and sponsors are coming into the series. This seem like the best year and im sure we will hear a ton of announcements with the next 3 weeks. I took a trip to San Diego yesterday and seen some of the action first hand. If you "RDC Members" have new news then let's hear it. Thanks and look forward to some updates.

We stopped by Alumi Craft to find Justin "Bean" Smith working on the next generation Prolite! Justin Smith and John Cooley will be a deadly combination! ProLites available soon.

Jason McNeil owner Fiberwerx will be contesting the Prolite class full time in the 2012 Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series. They are pushing to get the brand new PL done. This class is going to be stacked!!!

Hadn't seen this elsewhere but then again I'm far from a short course expert or insider...Nissan announced its 2012 motorsports program and yup, there is Chad Hord, Casey Currie and Brad Lovell on the list...but what is this?? Carl back with Nissan for both his Pro4 and Pro2? Goodness gracious...time for me to go celebrate with a pint or two...

PRE Season Practice info!! You will be sure to see new drivers and new graphic and sponsor layouts here.

This is just a reminder that we will be holding our first series sanctioned practice of the 2012 season at Firebird Raceway on Saturday, March 17th (this is one day before the ASCC season opener at the same facility). The practice will take place from 9:00am - 4:00pm.

Prices for each class are as listed below:

Pro 2 & Pro 4 - $700
Pro Lite - $500
Super Lite & Pro Buggy - $400
Limited Buggy - $300
Kart - $150
Any other class (upon safety approval) - $150

*The above prices are to be paid per driver*

Rodrigo Ampudia Joins Team Toyo® Off-Road in 2012

CYPRESS, CALIFORNIA – Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. announced today that Pro2 Unlimited class driver Rodrigo Ampudia, has joined Team Toyo® Off-Road for the 2012 race season. Competing in the Lucas Oil® Off Road Racing Series, Ampudia will pilot his 900-horsepower #36 Papas and Beer / Lucas Oil / Toyo Tires® Ford Raptor on Toyo® Open Country M/T®-R tires. The high-energy Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series draws huge crowds and is broadcast on television through major networks and cable.

Ampudia, now a resident of San Diego, California; has many accomplishments to his name. During his 2006 rookie season in short course off-road racing, Ampudia was the first international driver to win a Championship Off-Road Racing (CORR™) series race. He also won the CORR World Championship race in Crandon, Wisconsin during that same year. Ampudia then capped it off by winning the 2006 CORR Series Pro-Lite™ class championship. When he made the transition to Pro 2 class trucks, he qualified first in his rookie year.
