start with a boss block from ford or a dart block. both are really strong blocks with 4 bolt mains. real thick where it counts and you can make lots of power with them. You can order a complete short block from ford with really nice internals for around 5 grand. get your self a good cam and some dart or afr heads and your making over 600 hp right away. In my opinion, there wasnt a better or worse year for the stock 351 blocks, unless your talking about the cleveland blocks. These chevy guys like chevys because there cheaper to build and you can find parts in the middle of mexico, but when it comes to quality, Ford has there stuff together. and other than Gordons truck, nothing sounds better.

thats a whole other discussion, they are totally different blocks, the cleveland is no longer made so i would say that the windsor is better just because parts are more available and everybody is using the windsor based motors for there race engines now days. just my thoughts.
