    Re: Racepak Gauge Help

Ok, now I am a little confused. You mentioned the MEFI 4 module I had was no good due to the wires not coming out of it. I found one online that someone else was selling and asked him to send me a picture of his and it is exactly the same as what I have with no wires on the end of it... Attached is the picture ( not working I will attach it later)

There has to be some other interface or connector that I need that connects to the computer.

    Re: Racepak Gauge Help

I guess there is a v-net to delphi connector that is a 10 pin connection that I am missing. Got this ordred and will go from here.

The Mefi4 module I have is what translates the above mentioned delphi information so the gauges can read it properly. I will post up when I get the parts.

    Thanks again!

Don't listen to the masses, the Mefi module is just that, it just changes some of the values of the can signal from the Mefi. It is just a module and does not have wires coming out of it. The Mefi can have fuel psi, oil psi, h20 temp, oil temp, rpm, and I think a coulple more, then the Mefi converts this to info that is sent via a can line. Did you loose my number, all you have to do is call me

    Re: Racepak Gauge Help

The v-net to ten pin connector is a connector setup that Scott at UMI made and is now an industry standard, all it really is, is a cut v-net cable going to a ten pin connector that plugs into his ten pin diagnostic connector. Other companys used different connectors, but Scott's became the standard for programing. The v-net cable is only using four wires, can high, can low, pos, and negative

    Re: Racepak Gauge Help

Going to bump this thread. I ended up having to buy a MEFI 4b computer to get the gauges to work. Now I have the tach, Water, Volts running through the mefi module working correctly but my oil pressure and oil temp are not working. My Redline ls1 motor wiring harness does not have a connector for the stock oil pressure sensor to hook up too(three wire on top of block between heads and intake). I have researched online and there seems to be two sensors, the three wire (which I have) and the single wire oil pressure sensor. I am trying to figure out which one I would need.

In short, can I just pin out the ECU and wire in the three wire or one wire sensor and these functions can be run through the mefi module and the gauges work OR do I need to run a seperate v-net sensor as I did for the trans temp??

Also I have a fuel pressure gauge that I would like to hook up but this is lower on the list. I would like to be able to monitor oil press first.

Looking at the wiring diagram it looks like I would need

J2-2 grey 5 volt senor feed
    J2-3 Black Sensor ground

    J2-20 oil pressure
    J2-4 Fuel pressure

    Can't find the oil temp.
