Never have had good radio communications from main pit. I thought it was because of using a 50 watt radio but I have seen some posts that mention properly tuning the antenna. How do you tune the antenna?
Thanks

PCI can help you out. Give them a ring.
Cut the antenna to the right frequency. Depends on which antenna you are using too.

has some good info about your antenna and coax being set up properly for best range. Let me know which antenna you have and what frequency you use, I will post the length it needs to be cut to.
And if you need to cut and shorten your antenna, we sell the connectors separately.

Thanks. PCI pre tuned the fiberglass antenna we use at main pit for our frequencies. We use between 151 and 154. Our chase truck has an Icom radio with an AS magnetic base antenna 146-174 wl. How long should this antenna be? Thanks
It all varies with the exact frequency you are running. Our antennas have a frequency range of 144-174Mhz and we cut them down to 39.5 inches before sending them out. This is the best length for the frequency range we tune all our radios to, but like I said before it varies for every antenna and frequency range.
Each antenna brand varies a little bit, but check out the chart we have on our website which is designed for our 1/2 Wave whip antennas.
