RG 41st Brakes?
Is that start and park? How do you go threw the motions and then park? OR did he rally lose his brakes? Lame in my opinion!
37th year and still love it!!

Daytona dual = $24,200
Daytona = $268,150
Phoenix = $64,350
You can bet it's not the way he wants to operate, but he's out there being seen, and hopefully he can get the funding to run full races then get to the point where he can race to win.

Re: RG 41st Brakes?
Robby said on the race radio during the Phoenix race, that he is sorry he has to do this and thanked all his fans for their support. Currently RG is racing using Speed Energy money and some races Menards & MAPEI are sponsoring the car. The Menards and MAPEI sponsored races are full races. The races with only Speed Energy will be Start & Parks. It is important that RG attempt to make each race, even if he does not have the funds to race the full event. For one RG has employees that depend on him for a paycheck, RG also has a mortgage and other bills that need to be paid. Then on the NASCAR side being in the top 35 is important and even if your only attempting to qualify for races, it can help you make an event in case of a rain out. As rain outs go by points and attempts. Robby has said he thinks NASCAR will be looking at some sort of Franchising in the future and being at all the races should put his team in the position to get a franchise if NASCAR goes this route.
And one more reason it is important for RG attempt each race as he is trying to get Dodge's support now with Penske leaving to go to Ford next year. If RG can keep making races, even if his has to S&P it still might help Dodge consider supporting RGM, as right now they know it is financing that is keeping RGM from racing all the races.

Re: RG 41st Brakes?
I knew this was the plan last year after running into Miles at the NC airport. Basically, start and park is how they make payroll week to week.
The act of S&P is understandable given the current situation, but my issue is the constant misleading by individuals who run or moderate his website. Then when anyone has a comment that doesn't fall under the category of "blind Robby love," it results in an angry or overly sarcastic response. If people ask if he is running the entire race, don't belittle them or play dumb. Answer the question and move on, or just don't respond at all; cut the crap.

Re: RG 41st Brakes?
But why park, if you are there, made the trip to the track with team and hauler, can start the race are you telling me he cant afford the fuel and tires to try and finish? If you are there on the darn grid it seems unreal to me to pull off and lie about brakes!, press on and finish the darn race, do that and maybe make more!

Dave you would think since you are already there it would not cost much more to run the whole race, but it does. The reason they do a S&P is the fact that the money for a 30th place finish might only be $10 to 20 grand more then a 39th or 40th place finish. $20 grand seems like a lot, but when you factor in the 5 to 7 more sets of tires you need to buy at $2500 a set, then you will need a fresh engine after a full race, where a S&P will use the same engine for 3 or 4 races. On top of those items you have brakes, gears and so on that need to be replaced after a full race. And if running a full race you have to go in knowing you might wreck a car, where running a limited amount you have a better chance of getting out with a undamaged car. These teams have this down to a science. And I dont think a single S&P team wants to be a back marker S&P team. Its strictly a financial deal. Also the reason you see these teams listing brakes, rear gear, electrical ect.. is NASCAR makes you claim a reason you have quite the race.
