heres my pictures of the race. the weather was really good. not in the 100's like predicted. had fun voluntering for MDR as usual.
congradulations to PBR on the OA. we saw you coming home on the 14 s. i was driving the black ranger
harley letner broke a spindle that put him out of the race. we were the first people to get out to him after it happened because of a report on the radio of a rollover. they lost the tire at over 100mph.

probally one of the most frustrating days of my racing career. started the weekend great with testing the car and doing good so we relaxed the rest of the day. we started the race 1st in our class and had smooth sailing passing 10 cars and some trucks taking it easy come around for the first lap and find out i have a 5 minute lead on everyone in my class so i keep driving conservatively and as soon as i get past pit A the whole transmission just blows up. then to top it off i get back home look at the results and lap times to find out that if i would have kept running cuz i would have gotten faster every lap just by instinct that i would have probally been a contenter for the overall but o well well fix it and get ready for gold coast. see ya
congrates matt great finnish and wow solo actually made it around and ended up winning what a day for them.
Way to take it. How many years has it been then to get back in for an overall! AWESOME! Your crew did a great job fixing the truck the night before the race
I wish i had some pics of the after-race damage on the 1481 and 1479 but it can be said that the engine cages on both vehicles need to be redisigned and or beefed up. I would like to thank those that helped us out on our third and worst lap in 1481. the cold drinking water from the official at the last checkpoint was awsome, the water for our truck from the guys at about m.m. 27 helped us from frying the engine. The guys at about m.m. 24 who helped us rig the broken engine cage with a breakerbar and a hose clamp, not to mention some hi-speed duct tape and zip ties. the electrical connectors helped out a ton. A big thanks also to the guys who changed out our flat early into lap 3. 1479 managed to finish 2 laps with the end damage mainly consisting of framerail being riped out where the engine cage used to be. Great weather during the race, and a good turnout of people racing. well here are a fiew pix i took.
