Well after a few years and many many different ideas I finally pulled the trigger to redo the back half of my truck.
Old lay out:
VG 3.2 Nissan V6 to a Under drive to a torque converter then a Tilton clutch and finally to a Hewland VGC trans axle that had a transfer case attached to the rear.
It looked super cool and worked ok, but way to exotic for me. If it was cold you would have to heat the engine oil for 20 mins before you could start it. Four shocks per wheel, 2 fox 12 inch air shocks and two 3x10 inch Kusters.
New lay out:
VQ40 Nissan V6 mated to a power glide into a quick change rear end with 934cvs
One 3 inch Revolution Racing per corner
Last July I pulled her out of a storage container and I gave my boy Spencer Low the Challenge. I wanted to wait till she was almost done to post photos.

I looked at all my options, I even thought to use a 727 mopar transmission do to its small size. The power glide seemed the most bullet proof.
The C4 and the 727 rob a lot of power.
The C4 uses the least amount of power of all three speed transmissions. The nissan motor of yours does not have the torque to pull the gear you need for desert racing with a powerglide.
