The real question is:
Is there a way to run battery power or spare tire pressure backwards into the A/C pump to help boost engine power when you need it! And if so, is there a rule against that, or a way to do it so it can't be discovered?

well, i bet the organizers will be extra vigilant looking for these little tricks during scrutineering after the clusterf--k last go round. but one thing is for certain and that's that we'll never know if someone figures it out will we?

Scrutineering is just for show, paperwork, obvious violations and to install stickers. They don't get vigilant about inspections until after midnight somewhere in the middle of the race, after you show you might win overall.

That sounds a little like a baseball manager's decision to not call attention to an opposing player batting out of order...if you make the out. If he reaches first (or further) then you make the homeplate ump aware of the infraction.

That has been my firsthand experience. There are a lot of blatant infractions that pass scrutineering because they are on vehicles that are not a threat for the overall win.

Or could you use it to cool off the air going in to the engine?

You forgot the part about being American. Peterhansel would have never been called on it.

or maybe sorta like kansas city royal's third baseman george brett when yankee manager billy martin called for the umpire to measure how far up brett used pine tar on his bat after brett hit a home run in the american league playoffs thus disallowing the runs scored...it was over the allowed measurement in the rulebook. it was a chicken chit call and brett lost his mind and almost had a coronary..rings a bell regarding this topic huh?
