Re: Dakar 2013
The organizers gave all the Dakar competitors a survey at tech inspection this year asking if we wanted to start on the 29th Dec. or 5th of Jan. They want to start and finish on the weekends and the 1st falls during the week next year. Dakar always crashes right into the holidays so I am thankful for the little bit of a break this year.

flying down there after the new year sure is less expensive. airlines bump their fares for the holidays.

Re: Dakar 2013
was not sure what thread to ask this, Has Gordon ever commented regarding having a windshield like in the humbuggy vs not having one like in the trophy truck, As well, racing with a full face helmet and open face. Just curious if He has ever voiced an opinion one way or the other regarding the subject and what he prefers one way or the other.

i haven't heard any commentary from rg but having a windshield and door windows would surely help alot when the a/c is blowing ice cold on hot south american afternoons. wipers too..there's nothing in the rules that says he cant put a windshield in his tt so i suppose he's happy about the way that's set up.

yep..sure does..as long as the rules say that you have to run a windshield and door windows, then why not be comfy..no rule against running a/c and it's toasty down there in the summer.
