Private Land Racing
The Mint was awesome but the compromises required to race on public land are a HUGE bummer.
How could we form a group, coalition, corporation, chunk of investors to buy up a LARGE chunk of land in the southwest somewhere just for racing?
How would the investors realize a return and how much land would be needed for a true desert style course, pits, Bathrooms, infrastructure, and spectator areas. Could Live TV be part of it? Would a 20 mile course be big enough and how much land would that take?
1 pit every 5 miles with easy access? Ideas, thoughts?

Re: Private Land Racing
Could it be formed to take the place of a 401k as an investment, like a REIT or something similar?
It would seem that if TV was involved a ROI would be possible.

Re: Private Land Racing
I know Roger Norman owns a lot of land up in the Reno area that could accommodate a race like the Mint 400.

Re: Private Land Racing
Off roading back east is almost all on private land. We need to get busy and either do like Utah and throw the Feds off or buy it up.

I think thats the idea with his RENO race later in the year---in July --open pre--running, etc.

Man we have got to support that race!
I'm grateful for BiTD and that we still have US racing but man what a boat load of rules that to me seem to kill the very spirit that off road racing was founded on and that our racing forefathers possessed.
I don't want it all clean and sanitized, I wanna get dirty and have some adventure.
VAROOOM. I'm gonna seriously check into forming a REIT

Re: Private Land Racing
Endurance racing is great but I have a ton of fun at Laughlin on the shorter track. It gives more visibility to spectators to see trucks come thru multiple times, at speed. Plus there is more door banging going on because they can keep the track conditions in check and keep dissimilar cars from racing together to some extent. I don't want to see long distance races like the 1000 go away but medium course racing is a blast for both the racers and spectators.

Re: Private Land Racing
Would love to have Mr. Norman chime in with his thoughts on this front. I'm under the impression that this is a direction they are trying to take HDRA in the future.
