Class 6100 rules are out on BITD
Very easy too, same as 7200 but a sealed turnkey V8.
BITD RULE-11.420-86:trackwidth must be 85" at widest point measured at spindle height
11.420-87: Vehicle must have 8 cylinders
11.420-88: Engine must be supplied by designated engine builder
11.420-92: Tampering of engine results in disqualification of event
From what I can see this will destroy the 7200 class.

Re: Class 6100 rules are out on BITD
7200 is headed on the path of old class 10 with expensive motor packages. This will hurt 7200 but it is needed for the future growth in desert racing. I think unlimited powerplant will be class 1 and TT as it should be.this class will thrive and sponsors will support it. also the biggest wallet won't dominate like RPM at the moment. those guys will price themselves right out of competition. I thank Casey for looking into the future for us. flame away.

Can you run a junkyard engine? If so how do you get it tagged as sealed?
Cost to get them tagged as sealed?

I doubt anyone with a 500+HP v6 is going to want to swap their motor for something that makes 100 hp less. Top 7200 trucks will still be faster. I think 7200 will continue to get lots of entries. If the 6100 class allowed ls7 engines that would be a completely different story.

I think you're right. However, anyone that was on the fence between 7200 and the new 6100 will choose 6100 because it will be cheaper.

That is 100% correct....Why would they spend the extra money.... What happen to the Ford Eco-Boost program for 7200? It sounds like that failed and now this is the replacement. You just can't be everything to everybody, something will suffer!

Has anyone tested/raced the ecoboost engine in off-road yet?

There will be one at the Silver State race, the Mason Bros. are building one. I thought they had to be a Turn-key sealed motor, but Danzio is doing the tuning. I have not read the rule but I thought that was the case. Ford motor and computer sealed and tuned by Turn-key. I know they raced one in a 8 truck in the Baja 1000.
