Hey everybody, we've gone through some changes recently and finally decided on sticking to the same theme for our new logo, but we're looking for help on the best background color. It looks like someone thinks that the logo is awful. Input as to why it is awful would be helpful. Criticism is welcomed, but I'd like to hear the reasoning behind your opinion.

I dont think is awful but i do think that letters on a shield has been done plenty of times... the concept kinda washes out if ya know what I mean...

Also when I think of video i wanna think of clean and crisp visuals and your grainy look doesnt really do that...

I hope you take this as constructive criticism...

Indeed, thanks for the input. The problem is I'm terrible at coming up with ideas for this and I've been trying for quite some time now. The old logo was similar, so I figured I'd keep it. By all means, if I, or somebody else comes up with something better, I'm willing to change it again. Basically, I just want something besides plain text.
