Re: And you thought we were done! Ha!
Had fun prerunning the course on saturday.
Will there be any advance warning on the marked turns? I only noticed one turn arrow that was placed before the turn.
Also, there are a couple hazards that should be marked.
And is there any way of rerouting the course around the garbage pile at RM 8.6ish? I expected too, then did, get a flat there.
And will there be an alternate for Cadillac Hill?
Great variety of terrain. Wish you would have kept the sandwash from the first version of this course, it was a fun one.
The first uphill should be great for spectators.
When will we find out for sure when the UTV's start time is?

Re: And you thought we were done! Ha!
Thanks for the input. Yes, we'll get the turn warning arrows by Thursday. Trash? I look for it and reroute it if possible. RM8, you say? We'll look at it.
I know of one danger spot that we marked but I thought it might not stay as the dirt was really hard. Can you tell me approx what RM the other(s) would be?
Glad you enjoyed it.
If we get 8 UTVs, you all will race in your own SuperCourse.
Remember, signup is open, and registration and new entries (at regular price) will be at the Best Western Inn and Suites, Friday from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.

Re: And you thought we were done! Ha!
Yeah there was a pile of crap around mile 8.6-8.7 (Peg Ct?) on the left, and you could go slight right in the rocks, but there was a little junk in there, too. And it's definitely a good spot to pass, so in the dust it could get ugly. Maybe just a little yellow ribbon so people know it's there.
There is a nasty little crossrut at about RM 2.3, at the end of that high-speed straightaway before it veers slightly to the left. (It may be at Virginia St?). Only thought it should be marked cause it's at the end of a long fast (passable) straightaway, and some people will be hard on the brakes their into the following turn. It looks like the rains a cpl weeks ago squared the edges pretty good.
The reddish silty whoops around RM 4 were a lot of fun.
(If I did have advance notice of a separate UTV start, I'd probably race my motorcycle, too.)
Looking forward to a fun, fast race! Those of you UTV's that are gonna do it, make your intentions known!

Re: And you thought we were done! Ha!
Just got back from checking the course (7:15 p.m.) added several "down" arrows at locations you indicated, found some arrows down because of the wind, and found the trash. Can't do much about that but we did move some to the side. True, if passing someone in the dust it could be a problem, but a rocky downhill, after that nasty uphill, I believe the speeds will be down.
We've added more arrows, ribbons and it looks good. If you can pre-run on Friday, check it out we can always take care of last minute changes.
See you soon. No word how many UTVs we'll wind up with. Bring your bike just in case.
