Not sure they will have the speed like they do at BR. With turn 1 right before the jump the speeds will be lower. I think it was smart to put it after a turn. This will limit the speeds for the jump and limit the chances for a major wreck if someone decides to push it too much to make the final pass before the checkers.
This track will be wicked fast! Teams will be running ratios they haven't seen for some time, unless they run Crandon.

That's one of Harrah's Jimco Pro-lite's I think... It would be nice to know a rough mph going into turn 1 for each class. I know of at least one Pro-lite that was seeing 88mph worth of tire speed at Firebird, and this track looks faster. Wonder how much higher the Rev-Limiter will have to get turned up on that truck for this new track? My guess is that 9,200RPM won't get it all the way down the front strech in Reno!
This may be more like the 92-93mph the faster 4-cyl. Pro-Lites used to see @ Crandon. There were a few times one of the top running trucks used to see 9600 at the exit of turn 1 @ Crandon with the same gearing...

I don't mean to derail the conversation about the track, but you adjust the rev limiter instead of changing rear-end gears(or tailhousing reduction if you run one)? Can you elaborate on why? Pardon my ignorance on this topic.

That's easy! $$$$$ What gear do you buy to use at a track that you don't know anything about, and have nobody else to lean on for info?
It really depends on the engine how much you can get away with stretching the RPM window.... V-8 trucks don't have that luxury with the 6000RPM limit they are stuck with. Some teams have multiple gear sets, and other teams don't... It's an extra $1000 to change a ring and pinion, it doesn't cost a penny to raise the limiter! Obviously if the extra RPM causes a failure, it will be much worse than the $1000 to fix it... But what do you do if that $1000 you have is spent on the travel costs, OR the ring and pinion? So that means you take your chances with a raised RPM limit and go to the race, or you stay home and buy a ring and pinion. I guess you could change just the transmission's 4th gear ratio, but then you are stuck with performance that is no better than raising the RPM's most of the time.
Anyhow, good question!

Is the pre-party going to be open to anyone or just participants?
