The point that he brought up was we're gonna push the h20 envelope the same way we push the t4 limits. Perhaps, but I'll take new technology any day. That topic is dead.
Lets here about 5b....

Re: Class 5 only
I'm just the messenger on the 5b at MORE..... While in tech with my T4 car.... Warren (helps at tech, works with crumco) asked if I heard about the 5b class? Huh? What? He said that a new class was getting started that would be called 5b with water cooled motors.
I'm meeting with Art this weekend in baja. We'll chat about it. Other than that... that's it.

VORRA already excepts any 4 cyl, so do the Texas org's and BORE I believe (you'll have to check that one) as soon as we hear something back from some other Org's we'll post it up asap

Have Warren PM me his E-mail and I'll get a hold of the list of 5 car owners that are interested in the engine option deal , We're around Eighteen or more at this point

Re: Class 5 only
Spec engine = worst idea ever.
Class 5b = sure, that works. That allows the one or two nostalgia guys left over to go race each other for a "5 unlimited championship".
Who won the huge 5u turnout this weekend? You take the win Tom?
The difference between perseverance and obstinacy is that one comes from a strong will, and the other from a strong won't.

Re: Class 5 only
I pulled out of the race. Car fully prepped and took it around for a lap just before the start. Did a slow practice lap (about an hour time) before the race. Didn't have enough main pit support due to family issues.
Using the entry for the night race in September. The other 5 car had pulled out earlier in the week.
I'm still for VW only motors for the record. I also still believe that lack of disposable money is the reason for the lack of numbers.
Of course I want to race against others and don't care about getting a points award.
With no other 5 cars entered had nothing to due with not racing.
I still would of run the car in it's starting spot, and then would try to get into the other classes of cars.
It's a "CLASS 5 CAR". That is what it is. That doesn't mean go enter it in Class 1 or 3000, or 10 or 12.
You race in your class; then go find where your pace is. Have fun.
Simple is this: Race organizers need entries to keep going, they also need volunteers and political support.
We need the organizers to have a place to run our cars wide open and safely.
They WILL MAKE A CLASS FOR ANY 3 CARS.
Anyone wanting to MAKE A CLASS can with a few friends who want to create class.
Put a baja body on a 10 car, it's still a 10 car.
Don't try to water down (haha a joke there) the VW class with other motors.
