2.7 type IV almost exactly like Kevin Carr's engine.
This was my budget friendly class 5 car built over a four year period due to this awesome economy.

    5spd? 934? Midboards? Weight?

Lol. Budget. I feel ya dude. I couldn't work for a year after my crash. Slowly got back on my feet. sneak peak. Drivers seat is mounted 2" LOWER than co dog seat. Custom made for me by the good folks at mastercraft. I may ditch it and go with a new non suspension seat though.

Desert Runners Racing will be there with our new 12 car (I know, it is not our 5U!)...looking forward to meeting some of our antagonists we have met here on the forum...LOL!! Really, looking forward to seeing a big showing of 5U cars...MORE has had the lion's share of 5U activity for a few years now...

What are the rules concerning this "new" VW 16V motor? ...and the specs? This is the first I have heard about this engine option? Is it already good to go at SCORE (Bill Savage was mentioned)?

    200HP 16v? READILY available? Cheap?

Please, somone englighten me on this.

Doesn't seem like they get anywhere near 200HP (this is the 2.0 16v ABF at like 160 WITH WORK)
    http://www.clubgti.com/showthread.ph...rd-MK3-16v-ABF

Readily available? Please, point me to ONE for sale.

I didn't spend that much time searching, I found ONE for sale in the US for $9,000 attached to a crappy car http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...en-GTI-16V-ABF.

The ones I found for sale in the UK have over 100K miles and also come IN a crappy car.

From what I can tell so far, this isn't even an option for a play car. Please, if you have more info I'd love to hear more about it. (if they allow TURBO's, that would be a game changer as I've seen some diesels well over 300HP http://www.darksidedevelopments.co.u...0-16v-tdi-bkd/)
