Stock concept suspension may be substituted by open trailing-arm type suspension but wheelbase limit must not be exceeded.

My suspension concept is a trailing-arm type suspension, I'm not asking for anything. It also says Any four cylinder air or water cooled VW concept engine is permitted. Engine displacement is open.....Sorry. Maybe some day I will run a ECO Tec but it will be in Clacc 10.

like i said next year i will have gr-arms. the word trail has many meanings to it ,and if i realy want to get with it, it might be 4 wd to boot with the motor up front and no trans axel .thats taking the gray area to black .promoters might want to take a longer look at how they word things .

When building my car in 2006, I consulted SCORE (savage) on several things. I had the idea of using a 2" hollow stub at the end of each beam tube and fabricating arms that rotated on these. Asked if I had to use rear fenders and if I could modify panels (fiberglass), Savage said no. Things evolve and nostalgia is for car shows not off road racing.

Point is all classes have evolved or have died. Some things mentioned make sense, some don't. Throwing 80K into car for a class that has few entries and starts way back doesn't make sense. Perhaps ECOtech doesn't make the most sense in a VW class BUT is a viable solution to grow the class. Frosty's idea of a sealed VR6 also has merit and makes alot of sense.

Can you imagine a 110-115" wheelbase class 5??? Bet if you were to measure wheelbase only 1/2 of you would be legal anyway!

Yep and they do not want you to squat the front end , been thru it once or twice , they measure both sides and the total cannot exceed 211"

I knew the front arms would come into play sooner or later as I mentioned on page 41 of this thread. So if 5U allows A arms hung off the back of the beam and an eco tech what seperates it from 3000, where your A arms are pivoting from?
