I totally agree, but when someone posts that the class has always been the same etc, I have to disagree. I to am sad to see the motors change. I have been a life long diehard VW person in many forms of racing.
I think the only thing that sucks worse than the motor change to different makers is putting all my time and effort into the car and showing up to see 1 other car in the class.
How many class 5U just raced in last weekends race? It was in Baja.... home of the VW right? That would be a ZERO, big egg, nadda, zip, nix....
And on a way better note... Dave, can you post up a few photos of your 5U.. what it started as and what it is today? Its amazing to see how long of a race history the car has

I am confused. I have seen mention fo the "Chili race" which is the second weekend in September. Bessemer Mine rd be damned!. We are shooting for that one and racing C1, mostly to integrate a new driver that is a long time, WORCS Pro rider and son of a former Biz partner. What is the "September Night Race"?

I think people are confused and mixing the MORE chili race with the SNORE midnight race. They are on the same weekend

Matt, the biggest issue the BLM faces in Cali (Barstow, Lucerne) is the inability to close down venues to casual off-roaders when a race is underway. This makes it very hard for the BLM or the promoter to police spectating because it can occur and gather anywhere on the course. A stop gap is the mandatory setbacks.
If we can close these areas down during a race, you could expect better spectating.

According to Jim and Ron at MORE they are the same race
The MORE/SNORE KC highlights chili cook off midnight special
It's a combined race so the MORE regulars call it the chili cook off while SNORE regulars call it the midnight special.

Okay, now this is getting interesting!
Will the race be at night? Or, day?
If night? Will the Chili be for breakfast?
Either way, it will be fun!

It is a night race...for the MORE guys, similar to the Freedom 250 night race...it is a combined points race with MORE and SNORE...This is official...it is in Lucern also!! Don't know how MORE will handle the Chili cookoff aspect though...
