Weird. I don't see your name on the V2R draw. Do you own a race car or just codog/drive for other people? Doesn't really matter anyway, we already have the championship. So, who are you again?

V2R - 2 5u entries ---- makes me sad.
Who is Jacob Meurer and why isn't he in here? Anybody that knows him should reach out and let him know about this thread. Would be good to hear his input.
QUOTE from Casey on BITD Site homepage - so much for that "economy in the crapper thing" huh?
"WOW, we had a great draw! 283 in the draw, that is what started last year, so a huge "Vegas to Reno"! That is 24 Trick Trucks, 27 Class 1500, 20 Class 1000, 19 Class 7200 and 24 Class 1900. We wish all of our racers a great race and hope you create some memories that will last a lifetime! "Vegas to Reno" is #1 on many peoples bucket list! See you all in Las Vegas on Thursday, August 16th! "

ENGINES: http://www.outfrontmotorsports.com/homepage.htm
John Rayjowski is one heck of a guy. He KNOWS his stuff really well. He supplies Wide Open with their engines. We just spoke for about 15minutes on developing a new 5u package. Prices start at $7,000 for a very reliable 200HP engine. Getting up into the $11-12K range he maintains the reliability factor and can make 250-280 with TONS of torque. He thinks a FEW YEARS of racing before a rebuild would be needed. Rebuild estimate is $3,000.
For guys like Jimmy, he's got a few other tricks - but the dollars per HP goes way up.
I'll be running one of his 220-250HP engines FOR SURE, WITHOUT A DOUBT. Time to start saving my pennies. (anybody want to buy a real nice 2332T1?)

Re: Class 5 only
Is that 7k for just the engine or is that with ecu radiator etc (doubtful)?

Re: Class 5 only
It's not a full turnkey package, but it's quite inclusive. Adapter plate, harness - no radiator, no exhaust. Few other goodies included in that price too.
It's a pretty good deal in my opinion and if the thing runs for ONE complete season without a rebuild, you're clearly way ahead of anything VW based. The ECO was rather appealing to me at first and I thought it was the easier "sell". Now that we've all kind of agreed on 2.5L - the handling and weight benefits of the Subie are much more appealing to me. A bit more $ upfront but I KNOW I'll be stoked for many years to come. Furthermore, I couldn't be happier with the level of service I just received from John at Out Front. The guy is awesome. As I said before, without a doubt he's my new engine builder going forward.
