No... read the other rule where they tacked on the fiberglass "OPTION" - In regards to width. The track width is open, it's just the BODY width which must remain "stock" (like anybody gives a turd about that).

And while we are looking at RULES. It looks like I can run an unlimited big bore stroked out Subie in BITD. So that opens a lot of doors with no rule changes needed huh?

    SCR24: ENGINE LOCATION & DISPLACEMENT
Any four cylinder air or water cooled VW concept engine is permitted.Engine displacement is open.

    Quoted from Wiki:
Like the Volkswagen Beetle, the first Volkswagen Transporters (bus) used the Volkswagen air-cooled engine, a 1.1 litre, DIN-rated 24 kW (24 PS, 24 bhp), air-cooled four-cylinder "boxer" engine mounted in the rear.

So a "VW CONCEPT" engine is actually ANY boxer engine. Right?

So, if that's the case, I'll be running a 2.8L stroked out subie real soon. I expect to make way more HP and torque than any T4 ever dreamed of.

Chew on that for a while and let me know your thoughts.

Now that's thinking outside the box, or should I say Boxer???

I see BITD re-wording the rules in the near future like they did from 2011 to 2012.

Nope. I called and asked about that at the start of the year. The Subaru does not count according to Casey. Already tried that approach, Wheezy.

They can reword it. I have a printed copy and a receipt. I'll have it notarized today at lunch.

    Re: Class 5 only

I think what all of us are saying is that the rules can be pretty open, change depending on the year so lets all do our. Best to obey them, get motivated and get in the dirt. Our class is not cut and dry so we as racers need to self police and bring really wild things to race director attention.

Just placed my new motor order today viva chili cookoff!!!
    See you in the dirt!

you'll call the firewalls stupid until you really need them , someday wheezy , They don't do much but give your busted up ass a few more seconds to get out......when tubing punctures the fuel cell shizzle happens pretty fast
