TubeWorks XL Wide Hubs
What would be the benifit of running the TW XL wide front and rear hubs. Hubs are 1 1/2 " widder then average full float hub and bearings have more distance between for longer life. Downside is you will need to run a 6 or 7 inch offset rims. Are the XL hubs better than standard for desert applications or just strikly for short course? Any insight or opinions??
Thanks.

Re: TubeWorks XL Wide Hubs
If the standard offset hubs are accounted for in the build, then the greater offset in the wheel is not needed. The stresses are leveraged with the offset wheels. IMHO go with the most standard off the shelf option for cheaper and standard parts. The less "custom" the build is, the cheaper the mainenance is/will be. The benefit of the larger distance is a mystery to me. No apparent gains.

Re: TubeWorks XL Wide Hubs
Try asking TubeWorks and see what they have to say. . .they built them, so there must be a reason why they did. More than likely you won't need it, but they would probably be willing to tell you why someone did need them/why they made them.
The best bet is to always go straight to the source for info. . .assuming the source will shoot straight with you.
