Do used CV joints have a rotation?
I am dissasembling my race car, I was wondering if the used CV joints can be rotated in the car to keep the wear even.
Is this a good idea, or once the CV joints have wear they should be kept in the same position for their end of useful life, sort of like axls?
Thanks

Re: Do used CV joints have a rotation?
I've switched 'em and swapped 'em to spread wear, don't think they vave the torque twist issues axles have.
On low power play cars, I've been assembling CVs out of a box of old Type I junk for years with no apparent issues.
DO inspect cages and stars for any sign of cracking or galling.

Re: Do used CV joints have a rotation?
I used to swap them around on my 1600 car without ever having any problems, i even mixed up the axles once and never had a problem (i guess i lucked out).
