That's rob opinion of what RG dealt with. Don't you think RG would have said something if that was the case?

Re: Silver State Updates
UTV's on the same track as us would be a complete joke if it were not such a serious situation. I was not running for the win at the end on Saturday, but was fighting for as many points as I could get. UTV's and a quad for sure cost me at least one spot. We were doing 112 mph in the dust chasing down Lofton. He jogged around a UTV. Luckily, Ryan and I noticed the change in the dust swirls and jammed on the brakes. We came within 30 feet of killing both occupants in the UTV. GET THEM OFF THE TRACK. Don't mean to sound like an ass here, but they are half the vehicle and should only run half the race. Let them finish at the midway point in the race or something. Or, they need to come up with a factor that if you are down by so much time you get pulled off the track. It is unbelievable to me that we continue to put UTV's and novice bike and quad riders in harms way. Especially after what happened in Mojave.

and the "accident" will be 100% blamed on the TT driver.....even though it is 100% UTV/PROMOTER fault......i did not go to this race but i KNOW how it was, 300 miles of silt and basically NO passing.....mark is 100% correct (yes, i know, i cant believe i just wrote that)...in the TT class WE DO NOT SLOW DOWN JUST BECAUSE ITS DUSTY......with as many CLOSE calls as i alone have had with utv's and handlebars classes, its only a matter of time before the nightmare happens......EVERYONE would rather it DIDNT, lets solve the problem....

Re: Silver State Updates
FWIW, while watching the tracker coming into the finish, RG had passed a UTV a few miles prior to the finish, on a fairly high SPEED looking section, but it did seem to hold him back a bit.
ITs one thing when cars in your class hold you up as they are competition, but when a MUCH slower vehicle is holding someone up its not only results changing, its dangerous as hell.
23 seconds in our sport, is the equivalent of the Leader at Talladega lifting for a split second coming to the checkers.

Re: Silver State Updates
What I posted in other thread:
Simple solution to make (almost) everyone happy. Start the UTVs with the car/trucks. Start them where they should be based on their average times ( the whole class not just 1-2 fast guys) and size/weight. My guess would be right behind the TL and 1600 cars....this way no TT is in danger of killing one of them when they are running for the lead. And they are placed with cars/trucks that are similar to their speed and weight.
SCORE starts them in the back at least so hopefully BITD will take notice and put them where they belong.
I think UTVs are really cool and think they should be able to race they just need to be started where they belong. Simple as that.
