    Rear engine buggy's

Does an.yone have any pics of rear engine buggies that are rock crawlers? I have a rear engine dune buggy and may be converting over to a rear engine tubed chassis. Does anyone know of any manufacturer's of such a car?
I am very interested in doing this. The money I am getting ready to spend on a very expensive transmission could be parts like axles, ram steering, transfer case and wheels and tires.
Please send any links to any you know of and help me get some ideas of what everyone else is doing. And I am looking to build a 4/5 seater as well.
    Thanks!

I don't think they put the engines in the rear for a reason. Going almost vertically up an obstacle I imagine that you would want the weight in the front.

    Re: Rear engine buggy's

Most of the rear engine rockcrawlers I have seen are single seaters using a light VW or Ecotech engine mated to a Powerglide and an Atlas transfer case. The axles are flipped to account for the drivetrain behind mounted backwards, resulting in more ground clearance. Jon Nelson was the first to do this a decade ago with his "Tiny" buggy.

I have not seen many rear engine four seaters, I think that the packaging would be tough. Since you are in Chandler though your best bet is to talk to Campbell Enterprises. They have built many championship winning rear engine rock buggies and are local to you.

Here's a picture of the Trail-Gear Ultra4 buggy. It is a rear engine, tube chassis rock crawler that goes fast. It was built by Trail-Gear and Kirby Racing. It was the 2012 Cinco de Baja winner. It's a two-seater. Is that what you had in mind?
