Mine was right at 1700#. That was fully loaded race ready no driver or passenger. Some of the newer 4 seaters probably weigh more.
Dang, so you're pretty much right there with 1600 and 9. Probably right in between the two, "average" time wise (on a rough course), have 4 wheels, steering wheel and front to rear tube chassis. I guess the limited buggies just have more tubular structure around them (at least front and rear) for protection. This should SO be a non issue.
Loop races, TT's and 1's are expecting to catch slower traffic, usually 11's.. and the awareness is definitely heightened by the time that happens. Catching stragglers in a point to point when neither is really expecting it just seems much more dangerous.

Yeah we are right there. When we design our cages and bumpers we keep the possibility of being punted by a C1 or TT in the back of our minds. We have the same safety rules and cage requirements as the other car classes.

i was watching a show on offshore boats. big heavy and fast like a tt and i did not see them start the jetski class in front of them!
