1975 Spencer Low 4x4 rebuild for the NORRA 1000
This truck was one of the first trucks that changed my life in my younger years, after 33 years of wanting this truck in my garage it has came true! Myself along with some great friends and my Son are going to do a complete redo of this truck. If anyone has any pictures of this truck with some great color shots and can post them please do. I have a few but I want to make sure that we match the original colors perfectly.
Were not here for a long time........ Just a good time!!!...

This is a shot of that rig at the 1976 WRA Sandmaster 300 in Jean, Nevada. Decals are all in the same places -- probably the same paint job. It's not great, but it's a start.

Spencer Low (Jr.?) hangs out at ES Motorsports in Bloomington often, he likely has photos. Spence Low Sr., I believe lives in Parker AZ. Try Eric at ES, [email protected]

Dana,
Nice find, and still original, hard to find an old vehicle that is still like it was from back in the day that has not been cut up and turned into something else. I'm also glad to see more people taking the time to restore these old school racers, maybe in a couple years the vintage cars will start out numbering the "Evolution" cars at NORRA. If you can, find out which races the truck raced at and give Jim Ober at www.tracksidephoto.com a call, he will have PLENTY of pictures for you, he has been a lifesaver for me. Good luck on the build and keep us updated.

The Trackside website has a search feature, that searches by last name. It is in the upper right hand corner of their main page.

Thanks when we picked up the truck from Spencer Low he also had a few photos of the truck that he gave my son ,but the color is not all that great I was hoping that I could get some that had some of the great colors that it had in its day. I also looked on Trackside and could not find much of the old truck but i will give them a call.

Way cool find. i remember about 1974-5. The first time I saw a Datsun 4x4 Lil'Hustler on the street. I told my mom I wanted a truck just like it! I came close with my old Toyota 7s 4x4 straight axle, but that Low truck is a real find, now make it a treasure. Way cool.
