Re: 3 wheeler racers
Might be, ran into a Dennis at the TR150 Saturday, still wearing his original ADRA gimme cap and riding the same non-suspended ATC he won the Sonoyta-To-Rocky Point H'n'H decades ago.
Hey! You kids!! Get OFF my driveway!!! If you can't go away happy, just go away!

And what about Herder, Melton and Wood? They were all pros on ATCs back in the day.
Is "Wax" still involved with the sport?

Depends on what I might be admitting too.
Raced a 3-wheeler from 1983~1986 up until I was "forced" into a Fourtrax....

No apologies needed!! Don't think there are many here that have memories for these days. Besides my chances of overalling an ADRA race were often crushed by chasing Herder and my desires to focus on short-course.
A lot of memories with the time spent across the country on those "things".

These are totally cool. Athough I have never ridden one, I know Carmen Cafro was working with the builder of these, who newly relocated to San Diego I believe, on trying to race them at the NORRA event. He mentioned they did some riding with them to dial in the suspension on old Puertocitos Road. I'll keep my Alumi Craft for that!!!
Not sure I have the nads to swing a leg back over one of these. My TRX450R reminds me enough that I am not 20 any longer.

The thread I stole those pictures above from had pictures of Cafro and pictures of them riding down in baja as well as dunes all over the place!

Re: 3 wheeler racers
I never raced desert on one, only local track races. And I wasn't that good either! But at the time, I thought they were very cool. I almost died on one and should admit that they could be dangerous just to satisfy the federal readers of this site.

Re: 3 wheeler racers
I wonder how a three wheeler in the configuration of the road-going Can-Ams would work off road with some travel???
Might make for some real interesting landings, if not airtime.
