SNORE Dusty Times Caliente Course Intelligence?
Anyone out there in the forum have gps/gpx files or maps from previous SNORE Caliente races? Trying to get any hard info as I have never raced there before...we are racing this time though. I've been through the area spectating/doing BITD recovery during SS-300 2 years ago, and seen videos, but was hoping to see some of the course first hand this weekend while out checking out the Solar Eclipse on Sunday...any info would be appreciated.

Thanks guys!! We miss seeing SMT at the SNORE races...are you going to do any SNORE events this year?!? We are loving our new 12 car...so much faster than the old bug despite the continuing development...

Here is a link to the 2003 map that is in the same area http://www.race-dezert.com/forum/sho...usty+times+250 . Head up to the Ela lookout at 9000 ft getting there is easy and will let you see parts of the track.

Thanks again! Is the majority of the route on public land? Don't want to "cross" our wonderful hosts in Caliente.

Is the course going to start and stay on Clover Creek Rd or is it going to ride on the old rail road bed going up the initial valley headed East? I've seen some older videos showing the course going on the old rail bed over the old wood bridges there...

Re: SNORE Dusty Times Caliente Course Intelligence?
Kenny, Thanks for helping out...the map SMT posted isn't the best. I'm trying to compare it to GoogleEarth, but it isn't the best map and there is a freaking cloud in the middle of the NE corner of the Google Earth image making it more complicted in that sector...LOL!
I was hoping to find an old course route gps file to keep me on track.

It was posted that the Caliente track this year will be close to 2009 and that course ran up the clover creek not over the old railroad bridges .

Thanks for the tip..I was scoping the GoogleEarth images and was seeing the old rail tunnels...that might have been cool to run through! I just got the USR file from SMT. Strangely, the race-dezert server doesn't allow me to attach a .usr file?!!?!?! WTF? I was going to pass it along here to everyone.
