[QUOTE=Layton;1417758]Hey Keith, with all due respect. You really should try calling or emailing questions instaed of always posting on a public forum the way you do. Your post seem to come off a little agresive at times. You are getting a lot of tv time and are very new to the sport, which is great! Just asking maybe you can PM me or call me, I am your class rep. Good Luck and see you in Reno![/Q

I have to disagree with also. Asking legitimate questions on a public forum opens up thought, conversation and ultimately a better series.

Re: HDRA Set to Redefine Desert Racing - Eldorado Fireworks 500

Spent part of today with Roger out on course discussing ways to give spectators and racers the best experience on the course and in the pits. We sat on a ridge where the spectator area will be. This area will house the Monster party tent and beer garden. From that location spectators will be able to see approximately 10 miles of the course. The main pit will be on graded road with miles of course viewing! Did I mention that contingency will come to you as you downtown enjoying the downtown experience. The other thing is how many races that are 500 miles can you cover with a main pit and 1 chase truck? It looks like you can at this race!

Come to Reno and you woun't regret it! More bias information to follow as I can't say enough about racing here.

Can you explain this in detail? I am a tech vendor and would like to understand this better.

Dan 200 - I believe Jim meant tech and not contingency. Plans call for the race cars to remain parked and and on display on the downtown street. The tech crew will move along to each vehicle to do tech. Contingency will be static as usual.

Thanks. Thats what I thought. I cant say im so sure i like the idea because as a vendor I worry that it will decrease the traffic past my vendor trailer.

Cars will arrive on Virginia St at 8:30am via police escort from two nearby parking lots. Race vehicles will line the middle of the street side by side as if starting the race with the Biggest Little City in the World sign as the start, leaving teams time to enjoy the huge array of barbeque vendors, race vendors like yourself, talk to race fans, promote the sport, sign autographs and do interviews. This will be a showcase to get local people excited to come out and enjoy the race. We will have the Monster Energy Ninja Stunt Team burning rubber and Monster Energy Freestyle MX Team overhead doing shows through out the day. The Monster Energy stage will feature live music throughout the day as well. Tech and Contingency will be sharing the street with the All American Barbecue Festival, so the food will be incredible. We are encouraging race teams to register in full early. Those who register early will receive an embroidered HDRA jacket, embroidered HDRA backpack and VIP tickets to the Monster Energy party. We are doing this because we "do not" want them standing in line at registration. The only reason they will need to go to registration is for wristbands and pit passes. We want them out on the street enjoying all the festivites. Tech and Contingency operations will move through the field of cars.

This will not be like anything you have seen before. We may have up to 30,000 people coming to our pre-race show.

OK cool. Thanks for the explanation. This way I can prepare better. We do our best to carry what we can for the racers and will probably need to add extra inventory because of the all the allowed prerunning so I will try and accommodate for that but knowing about all the 'non race related" people on site allows me to bring other swag like inexpensive t-shirts etc.

I have done tech from both sides. pushed cars through and sold stuff, so I see both sides of it so I appreciate an event that caters to both of us and it sounds like vending here will not be incumbered by the race cars standing still instead of rolling. As long as I have a crowd, i will do fine.

Are us vendors going to be able to get our hands on some of these jacket and back pack goodies? I WANT!!!

I think that El Centro was a grand slam and expect this to be even better and worth the trip.

Layton... Sorry if my questions come off direct sometimes, I tend to type short and to point. Part of typing one hand and business letter classes. I have no problem sending questions in email, but i thought the whole point you guys constantly start threads and have the HDRA section was to get the answers and info out to everyone. I constantly go through every HDRA thread to find out whats going on, and there have been several times I had a question and it was found answered by another party that asked it.
