Kiwi Racing at LOORS this Weekend
Kiwi Trevor Cooper will be making his debut at the LOORS round at Speedworld Offroad Park at Surprise, Arizona this weekend in his newly aquired Geiser Bros No71 Pro 2.
Originally Rick Geiser offered Trevor a drive for the event but after sitting in the truck at Geiser Bros shop he decided he had to own it so the deal was done.
Trevor is looking forward to racing with his long time hero's of the sport he has followed for years.
After seat fitting for the truck last night Trevor and his crew headed off for a 6 hour drive to Plaster City for a 6am start to do some testing in his Jimco Champion he had purchased earlier in the week.
Good Luck to Trevor and his crew from the Offroad Fraterity here in New Zealand.

Re: Kiwi Racing at LOORS this Weekend
Update from Trevor Cooper and the crew.
Trevor had his first drive of the Geiser Bros Pro 2 today it was 300 yards to the track for the practice. 1st lap of 5 fuel pump wire fell off.
Qualifying was over 5 laps he was passed over the jump a whole truck higher than he was.
Alan Butler said Trevor did really well with TV interviews today. And could not believe how well he handled the pressure of this big time racing. Alan said "The kid is a Hero"
Format for the rest of the weekend is for saturday 3 - 5 lap races. And the same on sunday.

Re: Kiwi Racing at LOORS this Weekend
I have herd a lot about this guy and well he did not kill it out there today but he sure did get a handle on driving the truck. After all the carnage of racing that comes along with short course, Trevor Cooper pulled a 7th place finish in a field of 18 trucks.
No major mistakes that took him or anyone else out, and that is a surprise in LOORRS. This guy should be a competitive racer in no time.
Congrats on the new found success. There is no easier way to spend it than in racing.

Re: Kiwi Racing at LOORS this Weekend
I had a chance to meet and talk with Trevor yesterday and he was very stoked to be in the pits with a race truck ready to do battle. I watched his race and I think he did an admirable job of getting started in the toughest class in short course. He will learn more and have fun as he gets more laps.
What's really weird is I think I told him that if he ran clean that he would be in the top 7 at the end.......

Update from Trevor Cooper and Crew (2)
As you have heard in some earlier posts yes Trevor started 18th of the grid and finished 7th awesome job.
Trevor would like to thank his spotter for the race the legendary Pete Sohren alias Pistol Pete.
Alan Butler said the racing is insane the Pro 4 race one truck was on fire, 3 roll overs and one truck landing on Corry Weller's truck and she still finished 3rd.
Alan also mention the pits themselves are most impressive with semi trailers than V8 super cars.
