Re: Marc Coma vs. Baja 500

if he preruns and doesn't have to navigate to the extent of what's required in rally raid, he'll be able to just ride. but i don't think he'll necessarily be faster than anyone just on his riding ability. his strength is in navigation and accurately putting himself on the right track in rally raid in combination with his riding capabilities and reading terrain which are epic. but this guy is a high line professional and i think he'll do just fine and i wouldn't be a bit surprised if he won the thing overall....and with this format and support in place, it's hard to imagine him tanking or not finishing..the guys a stud and i think he'll like it down there just fine.

just him in the race is bound to be a motivating factor for the other pro riders. you beat this guy and you definitely got something to tell your grand kids. the man is an off road legend and larger than life on a global stage and he's not coming all that way just to mess around.

If he can get's in the groove, has support at same level as other guys he'll run with them.
You ever see the guy ride "short" stuff (enduros/GP style races)?? He's blazing fast!!

I x2 your last sentence - no matter what he says, he always wants to win.....

Now all what it needs to top that is Peterhansel or Roma in a new Jimco TT jejejejejeje - some folks would cry and need to re-adjust their attitude

Riding with Ramirez, Brown, and Caselli. I don't imagine he will be doing the heavy lifting. I would think he would ride the beach section. It just adds to the Baja drama. Love all the bike teams..
