    MORE 500 Raw In-car - 5011

5 minutes in a Class 5 at the MORE 500. Raw footage. Only went about 10 miles before the GoPro mount broke. Nice lunging save on that one.

Your car is really fast we had a good race going between us. It was a great course and what a difference it made not having to fight our way through the 1400s. I blew my motor on the third lap when you guys had a flat. See you at the chili cook off, hope we can get everyone to show.

Nice Video! Glad to hear you had a good run! What go pro mount were you using? I am putting one in our car for a race this weekend, just wanted to know what failed and how? Thanks

I had a flat adhesive mount on the dash, which was fine, but I have to use the short extension arm to raise the camera about 3" to get above the windscreen. That's the weak point. Those polycarbonate arms and extensions aren't made to withstand the impact of this type of stuff. We need to make some solid mounting points where the flat adhesive mount can be mounted directly and to eliminate the extensions. That would help with vibration too.

Thanks for the info. That makes sense. I am planning on using the stick on mount that comes with the go pro but without any extension. Were you using the "vented" back cover or the completely sealed one. Not sure if dust is hard on these things. I know it says for under 100MPH use the open back cover for better sound, but is this going to kill my camera or get dust on the camera lens? I liked the sound on your camera
