    We also run a 30ft mast with a commercial fiberglass antenna.

    We run the same Anvil box with a Kenwood TK7360 and an Icom IC8000 in the box. The 7360 is much newer tech than the TK790H you mention and with that, has far better receive performance. That radio is attached to a 17' fiberglass antenna from Diamond that yields over 8db gain. The antenna seems fragile and I may change it out to the smaller fiberglass 4.5 db antenna that PCI sells. We do run the TK790H in the race car mostly to be heard, where it works well.
