    Removing wires from fuse panel???

Is there a special tool to remove wires from the back of a fuse panel?

I have an aftermarket wiring harness (previous owner purchase) that has WAY too many circuits for this particular vehicle and I would like to remove the excess wire from the fuse panel. Granted I could just snip the wires, but I would rather pull them out.

I pulled one out by just pulling REALLY hard, but I'm pretty sure that isn't the right way to remove them. . .I tried getting some small needle nose pliers in there to squeeze the terminal legs (for lack of a better descriptive term), but that didn't seem to help.

    Thanks for the help!

If you are referring to the ATC fuse brass terminals, I have had good luck with a small narrow flat screwdriver...similar to an eyeglass screwdriver. You can slide it up along the terminal to release the tangs that lock it in place - patience is "good". They probably make a terminal removal tool but have had good luck as above. "Pulling real hard".... isn't the best course of action.

Yeah, I didn't think "pulling really hard" was a good idea. . .I tried on one circuit that I knew I wasn't ever going to use just to see if it was just very firmly seated and decided that wasn't the case.

The terminals I'm talking about are the brass (in my case) terminals attached to the wire that runs into the back of the main fuse panel. . .they look like they kinda snap into place with little tabs once you push them into the fuse panel.

I'll try the screwdriver route and see if I have any luck.

    Thanks!

are they the pin type? i have one of these and they are helpful for taking apart plugs to fish wires thru tight places...
