As for the retail prices you are correct. But what you need to look at is the REBATES on standard F-150 trucks. Look on a Friday in the local news paper and check out all the F-150 trucks that are near or over $10,000 off widow sticker. This is where/how to save big over a Raptor. Now don;t get me wrong I think Raptors are sweet trucks but if you are going to fix up a Raptor and spend all the money replacing most of what Ford installed then just start with the same F-150 truck with a 6.2L or Eco Boost.

Soon enough you will have some Camburg Parts on that truck of yours
Since the Ford folks talk about substituting the Raptor with a F 150 EcoBoost with a Camburg setup, I would take a Megacab Cummins and install a suspension system from either Kent or Carli. Suspension-check; towing/hauling capacity-check; better fuel mileage than the gas motors-check. Just my .02

I average all together 12.8 ugh

I have a 2002 Toyota Tacoma 4 door that I drive 90% of the time. San Clemente is a small town with narrow streets and that big ol Raptor is a pain around town, plus I LOVE MY TACO just as much as my Raptor

My raptor is a year old and it has 11,885 miles on it. I bet 11,400 of those miles are from off roading and going to races or on Baja fun trips. It's pretty much just for the desert.

I sold my Alumi-Craft. 4 seater to buy the Raptor so I use it as my toy and not my daily driver, plus I can't afford a $ 50,000 truck every 5 years. I'm hoping to make her last a while, we'll see.

Sheeze the first house I bought back in 86 was only 58,000.

Maybe my next truck will be one of those Friday specials Jerry was talking about with Camburg parts added as I can afford it, who knows?
That's the perfect life for a raptor.

Then for the rear a set of deaver springs with a set of fox 3" bypass shocks and top this off with our rear bump stop kit.

Stock F150 4x4 with all the parts the Raptor guy will buy anyways but you save $$$$
That sounds like a nice setup. Hopefully I can do that soon.

You can't get a F-150 extra cab in the 5.5 foot bed since 2009, so unless you want to get a regular F-150 super crew, you wont have the sporty shorty...

Great job on the video Matt!!
It won't fail because of me!

If you want to go aftermarket versus aftermarket, why not put the Dodge up agianst a JD Fab F150. It's what the Raptor is baised off, just not watered down.

Here is a Tundra we helped build for Toyota/TRD. This was at SEMA 2 years before the Raptor. You be the judge.

the paint, skidplate, and even the side pocket on the bumpers look very similar... I'm a fan of Toyota but i think the tacoma baja was a fail. A well thought out and off road engineered tundra would be cool. TUNDRUNNER?

Hmmmm... A tundra would be sick. What about Chevy? of Nissan? We want options!

    I choose this....

It would probably do 2 laps by the time the raptor/ram finish! and it's very factory looking!
