Re: Raptor vs. Ram Runner Part #1

It's not often that something with 410 HP and 420 ft lbs gets called a dog. Same numbers as a base corvette. I'm pretty happy with it. I wouldn't mind some bolt ons bumping her up to just under 500 ponies but I really see no actual need for it. With 6 gears and over 400 horses she scoots pretty dang good.

Torque is how much work you can do
Horsepower is how quickly you can do that work. With the numbers on the 6.2 so evenly matched it's a great package for moving a 5200 pound truck.

Any kit that includes upper & lower arms can also be put on any F-150. It's the same as a raptor. anyone that does that to a raptor should have just bought an ecoboost F-150.

I've been in a couple. They are certainly not dogs. Those trucks go pretty good.

The body is wider. I think the Raptor tows a boat better too.

Frame pivots are identical. From ford ecoboost is highest rated towing, due to the higher torque at low rpm.

Well they do come with a built in trailer brake controller and anti sway computer built in to the traction control. It would have to be a pretty light boat though, no 40' sport fishers.

Just my opinion. I drove one back to back against an Ecoboost with hwy gears. The 6.2 has power but it feels like its in the wrong place, up top, just feels as if it has very little rip. The EB hits peak tq early and stays there, feels so much better. Even my tired 135k mile Datsun 5.6 which was only rated for 360hp when new feel worlds better everywhere, off the line, passing on the freeway etc. Driving the 6.2 after reading the specs was a massive disappointment for me.
