I just want to point out a comparable dodge-turned-ram runner will set you back $54,000 or so.

There is always something better out there. Pick what's right for you and go for it. I just love seeing all the different stuff. So many options, my brain wants to explode.

Can the Ram Runner package be installed on a 2500HD with a Cummins engine? That would be nice!!!!

My dream truck is an F-350 4 door utility bed with a V-10 with headers, CAI and tune. Linked cantilever rearend and a custom TTB front end from AutoFab.

Yeah Baby! Anything is possible! Pick up a nice low mile older F-350 for like 13k give the guys at AutoFab 20k and Bingo!!!

When the bling bling Raptor dies be on the look out for me in this exact truck!

No matter how good your suspension is, 4000 lbs over the front axle isn't "nice" - unless you define off road performance differently.

The Cummins-powered Rams are awesome, but their big limitation is weight. I designed one that a Dutch team used to win its class in the Dakar Rally. It's the old "Beast" - probably the fastest Cummins-powered off road truck ever built.

A regular 5000 lb. Ram Runner on 35's will smoke the Beast in the rough.

An 8000 lb, solid-axle, radius arm truck with 13 - 16" of travel on 37s is fine on rough graded roads, but reaches its limits pretty fast on bigger Baja race course stuff.

Re: Raptor vs. Ram Runner Part #1

Thanks Kent! My Chevy 2500 HD is a work in progress and I would like it to be comparable to a RR or Raptor but with the power and fuel economy of the Duramax diesel engine. At least it is not as heavy as the Cummins... It is a work in progress, but someday I hope to get there. We installed the FiberwerX 1-piece front end conversion to help reduce weight on the front and the suspension is the Pure Performance IFS long travel setup with dual coil-overs on each side up front in place of the torsion bars. We will be sortening the frame and installing a shortbed with the FiberwerX matching bedsides soon and we will either link and coil over the rear or run Deavers and retain the leafs.

It had 350,000 miles on it when I bought it with blown headgaskets and it now has over 360,000 and is putting 550-hp and 1,000 lbs/ft of torque to the ground through the 37-inch Goodyears mounted on KMC Enduro beadlocks. Even with the crappy aerodynamics it has now (we'll be building a bumper for it too) it gets 16+ mpg on the highway at 75-80!!! Not bad for an old 7,000-pound pig huh!
