This would get the job done no problem for you in a norra race http://www.race-dezert.com/classifie...tails&id=23974
I dont know if anyone is looking for a vintage prerunner. But I am selling my Grandfathers 1982 Chenowth/Jimco built prerun/chase buggy. I know Chenowth and Jimco should not be in the same sentence, but that is what makes this car unique and have history. We had talked about entering it in the NORRA Prerunner class, and act as support to a true vintage race car. This is the type of cars that should be in the prerunner class. Not $100K+ TT prerunners.
Quick synopsis;
In 82 my Grandfather ordered a 4lwd chassis from Chenowth, they were suppose to tab and make it a roller. They were not able to build it, so my Grandfather call Jim Julson (founder of Jimco) Jim had worked on my Grandfathers race car and took this job. The car was built to be a prerunner / chase buggy. On top of the added tubes to the chassis, Jim made a custom roof rack, spare tire mount made to carry two tires and little things like a spare battery mount to be able to carry a spare in case the race car needs one. Jack from Jack's Aluminum did all the aluminum at Jimco's little Lakeside shop.
In 01-02 the car was torn down and rebuilt. Most of the car was kept original, except for a new 6 inch wider Jimco beam with hoops was added and new Jimco 1600 trailing arms replaced the original Jimco trailing arms. (I still have the originals) This car still has the original Chenowth fiberglass body. The buggy comes with a very nice spare parts package too.

Off Road Racing & Sex have a lot in common....it's only good if you finish
i used to own that mcmillin 8 and recently went to look at it. it's still very much all there and original other than the body. even some of the trick tin work like the aero headliner with helmet bubbles is still there. now has rear coilovers instead of quarter elliptics. wish i still had it. would be awesome for norra with the old body back on it. but i think it could also still be competitive as a score class 8. it really is a great truck, very well built.
It's not about how much faster you can go, it's about how much longer you can go faster.
