mechanical gauges or electrical?
Do most people just run electrical gauges? Or is there a big advantage to running liquid filled mechanical gauges? Are they a lot more accurate? I am designing my dash now and need to make the decision soon.
thanks,

It is not a race car, just for play. I just want it to be accurate but not have the inconvenience factor outweigh the benefit.
I could just run other fail safes like warning lights...

Re: mechanical gauges or electrical?
Todd Wyllie told me one time that he took 3 Auto meter mechanical water temp gauges, put the probes in boiling water, and that they all read within 20 degrees of each other. So I don't think that mechanical is perfect unless you test each one first

Electrical oil pressure gauges never spew hot oil in the driver's compartment.

I would say electric.....you never want anything that might leak, break or jeoderdize your race in ordeer to be a little more accurate.
